Public Meeting To Discuss Estuary Airport Plan

Local MP Mary Macleod and Thames airport architects will attend

Local MP Mary Macleod will attend a public meeting on Wednesday 27 February 8.00pm at St Michael and All Angels Church, Bath Road, with an architect of the Thames estuary airport which has been proposed by Mayor Boris Johnson.

Huw Thomas of Foster and Partners will present the work he has been doing on the design of the Thames Hub, a new infrastructure strategy for the south east which includes a new airport to the east of London and proposes the scaling down and possible closure of Heathrow. This will be one of the proposed solutions to London’s critical shortage of air capacity which will be presented to the Airport Commission chaired by Sir Howard Davies.

The meeting is organised by the Bedford Park Society and the newly-formed Bedford Park Residents’ Association. Entry is free although there will be a collection to cover costs of hiring the  church.
